TIN SHEDS GALLERY
‘The Grey Voice - Contemporary Australian Drawing’.
The Grey Voice reflects on the notion of drawing rather than simply being a collection of drawings. Its title is suggestive of the 'greyness' of dust, ash, smoke, clouds and shadows as well as the ephemeral and elusive qualities of drawing. It avoids the rules of most drawing shows which permit only unique works on paper. The exhibition teases out the relationship between the drawn, the written and the uttered.
Artists: Vernon Ah Kee, Adam Cullen, Leo Cussen, Shirley Diamond, Alex Kershaw, Maria Kontis, Andrew McQualter, John Mawurndjul, Jacqueline Rose and Louise Weaver.
Curated by Jacqueline Rose and Jasmin Stephens.
This project was supported by the National Association of the Visual Arts with financial assistance from the NSW Government Ministry for the Arts.

MOSMAN ART GALLERY,
‘Bon à Tirer’: Diana Davidson and the Whaling Road Print Studio, 1978 - 2005
This exhibition examines the creative practice of Diana Davidson, artist and master printer at the Whaling Road Print Studio in North Sydney, and features 120 works by 32 artists. A French printmaking term, Bon à Tirer is frequently used by artists and master printers to declare the image 'ready to print', thus it is an apt expression to capture the essence of this exhibition. With over 30 years experience, Diana Davidson has collaborated with and printed works by many distinguished Australian artists. The exhibition presents a selection of etching, relief prints and monotypes including works by Arthur Boyd, Charles Blackman, Elisabeth Cummings, Russell Drysdale, Donald Friend, Peter Kingston, John Peart, Jeffrey Smart and Brett Whiteley among many others.
In addition Mosman Art Gallery will also display a small selection of works on paper from the Mosman Art Collection.

MANLY ART GALLERY & MUSEUM
‘Distant Noises’ A touring exhibition from the Print Council of Australia.
The Distant Noises project co-coordinated by Rebecca Mayo & Georgia Coutts was designed to explore communication and distance, linking artists across Australia. Each invited artist was paired with an artist from another place within Australia. Through communication via phone, post, email or fax they both collaboratively created a print or work on paper, which described and engaged with the distance between them. The two works created by each pair of artists will be exhibited side by side in this exhibition.
