Charity Gala Preview

The 9th Sydney Art on Paper Fair is delighted to announce its support for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and to welcome Michael Leunig, renowned cartoonist and social commentator, who will open the Fair at the Charity Gala Preview on Wednesday 30 July. The evening of festive entertainment includes live music and performance, refreshments, canapes, printmaking demonstration and a first chance to purchase the art before the Fair opens to the public.
Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick is a specialist facility for children's health and a paediatric teaching centre, providing a comprehensive range of services from the most urgent and essential to the most complex and technologically advanced for children throughout Sydney and New South Wales.
Proceeds from the Charity Gala Preview will support the Hospital's Art Program which is dedicated to creating an environment that is as free from stress as possible and where the children and their families feel comfortable, safe and secure. The Art Program aims to provide much needed art therapy for the patients as well as interactive and decorative art works. Especially for those young patients who visit the Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick for repeated treatments or who cannot be treated on an outpatient basis, the art presents a diversion from illness, an opportunity for entertainment and an outlet for expression or understanding which benefits not only the child, but also their carers and families.
