Richard Nagy has been dealing independently since 1980, with Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt a speciality since 1984. He Started the Dover Street Gallery with Edmondo di Robilant in 1989. He also handles the work of German Expressionists particularly of the Neue Sachlichkeit and artists of a related sensibility (Spencer, Bacon and Freud). Less obviously related artists in stock are Symbolists (Redon, Khnopff) and works by the artists of the accepted canon of Modernism, (Picasso, Matisse) et cetera.

Nagy has exhibited Schiele in Sydney, Australia in 1988 and 1990 and had exhibitions at the Dover Street Gallery in 1993. And most recently in Paris with Sophie Scheidecker in July 2000.

He has been an expert witness on Schiele in High Court actions with regard to questions of authenticity and value, both on behalf of Sothebys and in the land mark action on behalf of the successful plaintiff against Christies.
