In the old heart of Amsterdam you can find Steendrukkerij Amsterdam.This printshop specialises in the printing and publishing of lithographsand woodcuts in limited editions.

A gallery was added to the printshop in 1984. In this light, airy space,various contemporary artists of international reputation, both Dutch andfrom abroad, have presented their editions. Amongst these are: Ko Arts,Armando, Jean-Charles Blais, Carel Blotkamp, Aaron Fink, Dan Flavin, JorisGeurts, Kees de Goede, Klaas Gubbels, Fons Haagmans, Dennis Hollingsworth,Claes Oldenburg, Koen Vermeule, Carel Visser.

Every artist entering the printshop has a specific idea for an edition.A sculptor has a different approach that a painter or someone who workswith multimedia techniques. By listening and trying to work as an extensionof the artist, the printers are challenged to discover the boundaries ofgraphic art. This fusion of artist and printer often results in a wonderfulco-operation but, more importantly, in a print with the special characteristicsof the artist.

Many of the prints have been included in private and public collectionsin both the Netherlands and abroad. In addition to the artistic value, manycompanies and institutions have found it financially attractive to forma part of their collection out of contemporary prints. The prices are substantiallylower than those of drawings and paintings.

The entire collection or prints in stock can beseen during opening hours of the gallery or by appointment.
