7th International Works On Paper Fair (IWOPF'99)

The 7th International Works on Paper Fair (IWOPF'99) at Fox Studios,Sydney in July this year is the only Art Fair held in Australia devotedto showcasing works of art on paper.

The International Works on Paper Fair is a prestigious bi-annual eventwhich brings together art collectors, galleries, art dealers and publisherswith works of art on paper from all over the world. The exhibition willfeature drawings, computer generated images, photographs, collages, originallimited-edition prints, watercolours, original vintage posters and illustratedand artists' books.

It is a great opportunity for audiences to sample the wares of dealersfrom Australia and abroad who specialise in prints and drawings. The workis always diverse and full of surprises. All artworks on display are forsale and the fair also includes lectures, discussions and demonstrationsof printmaking techniques and methods of conservation and restoration.

Previous Fairs have been held at the State Library of NSW, but as thenumber of participating galleries continues to grow, the Fair has movedthis year to larger premises in the Byron Kennedy Hall at Fox Studios, MoorePark - (The old RAS Showgrounds site).

Galleries and print workshops from New York, London and Amsterdam willbe represented at the Fair alongside many local galleries from all aroundAustralia. Some of the participating galleries include Banning and Associates/PosterAmerica from New York, Sydney's Watters Gallery and Michael Nagy Fine Art,Utopia Art Sydney, The Australian Art Print Network, Main Street EditionsStudio Gallery from Adelaide, Melbourne's Port Jackson Press Australia,and Art Farago Associates from New York. Akky van Ogtrop, Director of IWOPF'99is travelling to the USA in February and Europe in May to promote the Fairinternationally and encourage new galleries and print workshops to participate.
